Get Your Foot Off The Brake

Even though you may want to move forward in your life, you may have one foot on the brakes. A part of you may be struggling to release, let go, move away from the place you have been idling in for so long. In order to be free, we must learn how to move our foot off. Release the hurt. Release the fear. Release the unforgiveness. Release the need to control. Refuse to entertain your old pain. Refuse to stay where you are. Refuse to be stagnant in a place that doesn’t reflect your dreams. Refuse to be stuck surrounded by things that are not fulfilling you, making you happy, bringing out beauty. Refuse to let the unknown hold you back. The energy it takes to hang onto the past is holding you back from a new life. The energy it requires to keep that foot on the brake instead of letting go is taking away from what could be spent on living. The attention it takes to not let that foot slip is distracting you from being able to enjoy the journey, the gorgeous scenery around you. It is time to take that foot off the break. Let your heart guide you along the path and follow it telling you to let go, release, and move forward.
