Release Your Grasp

Sometimes the best way to be happy is to learn to let go of the things you tried hard to hold on to that are no longer good for you.

It is so easy to hold on to things that end up weighing us down, hurting us, keeping us from our dreams, keep us trapped for they become safe and familiar to us. Unconsciously, it could also be a way of sabotaging ourselves to keep us from true happiness and live the life we deserve but question if we have the right to have because of past mistakes and failures. We hold onto things for the sake of others, perhaps believe that it is what others want or what will keep people around. We hold onto things to protect us from not being perfect. We hold onto grudges, fears, anxieties, pain, and our past to not have to face the potential of what life could be, what beauty the future will hold. To hold on means stagnancy, complacency, and familiarity. That is what, even if it kills us, brings comfort. But in doing that, we are robbing ourselves of authenticity, of a beautiful life, of fulfilled dreams. We have to take a deep breathe every single minute and let it all go and just be, leave our arms open to embrace things that we truly want. Fear will exist but so can faith. Decide which one you want to win out. We have to actively choose to risk leaping into the unknown believing we will fly.
