Remember to Play After the Storm
Learn to have fun. Do not forget after a time of trial and struggle to allow yourself to smile again. Life is too short to not do what makes you happy and to let loose. Risk looking like a fool and being silly. Be authentically you, and be free to live like nobody is watching. Step outside of your comfort zone. Break free from the chains holding you back because of fear of how others will perceive you or expectations of who or what you should be. Do not see having fun as being unproductive or a waste of time. You will find in the moment of having fun, you will get a greater feeling of contentment and joy than what you believed possible. The ability to take a break from the stress and chaos of the world around you will help you to better handle what is to come and calm you to make you more productive. Let go and enjoy every second of partaking in fun. Allow yourself to smile and do it as much as you can. It gives you a beauty that nothing else in the world can create. Dance in the aisles of the grocery store. Sing in the shower. Swing on the swings. Embrace spontaneity. A great source of hope in my recovery came from the moments where I let go and experienced the joy life could bring unencumbered by obsessions or fears. Those tastes of bliss inspired me to go another day for I was reminded of what I was fighting for.
