Surround Yourself With the Lifters

Surround yourself with people who make you hungry for life, touch your heart, and nourish your soul.

It is so important to be with people who you know will be there with you through the bad, but as I further in my recovery, I am realizing it is equally important to have people who are going to stand by you through the good too. You need people to celebrate in your victories, to want to see you succeed, to show joy in your accomplishments and progress. Surround yourself with the right people. Your friends are family you choose. Surround yourself with people who reflect the person you want to be. People inspire or they drain you. Choose them wisely. Surround yourself with those who will lift you higher, who will help you soar. Find people who will help be the wind to help you fly when you get tired or weak. Surround yourself with people who will make you laugh, who genuinely care about you, who will help you when in need because of the kindness of their heart and not expecting anything in return, who love you, and who you admire and respect and trust. Let go of the people bringing you down and let in all the ones who are bettering you. Put people in your life that not only bring out all the best qualities you possess but also see the greatness within you. Be in company with the believers and doers and positive thinkers for that energy will enrich you. Be with people who SEE you, the authentic you. Who HEAR you. Who see the tears behind the smile. Who reserve a space in their heart for you. Be with people who know your worth for that is what you deserve.
