The Days of New Beginnings
Once in a while, amidst all the bad days, you will have a good day. A glorious day even. Make sure you remember those days. Keep them safely in the pocket of your coat or a jar on your desk or in a safe hidden away because you need to know that there are and will be better days. You need to remember that the pain will not last forever. You need to know that what you deemed impossible after all the trials is most surely possible. Treasure the good day. Let it wrap you in a tight embrace. Watch the moment like you would a movie and replay it again and again on the days of darkness. Memorize the lines of the day as if you are rehearsing for a play and recite them when you are struggling. Act on the emotions so energetically and passionately as if you are drunk on happiness. Let it warm you like the sun on a summer day. Let it be indicative of the small fire that has been lit inside of you to keep you going, pushing through the pain, fighting the battles. Nurture it, cater to it, and never let it die. Let it spread and consume you. That fire is your survival. That day is your new beginning.
