You Are Enough Simply Because You Are

You are enough. Not because you did or said or thought or bought or became or created something special, but because you always were.

So often we feel never enough. We are not skinny enough, pretty enough, smart enough, outgoing enough, successful enough. We do not have enough. We have not done enough. We have not become enough. We hold ourselves to ridiculously high standards and expectations. Sometimes, those things are placed on us by others. We are told by people in our lives that we are not enough or are treated in a way that shows that how we currently are is not acceptable. Sometimes we perceive it because what we do and who we are constantly gets unnoticed. No matter what we do and achieve, people still want more. We must be more, do more to gain acceptance and approval. We push ourselves past the point we can handle. We become the opposite of our authentic selves. We shape and mold ourselves to be enough; to be enough to society, to the mirror, to others, to ourselves. But I am telling you now that who you are, who you authentically are and what you do from your heart is enough. Where you are in life is enough. How you look is enough. Stop measuring yourself to impossible standards. Stop holding yourself to the ideals of others. Embrace where and who you are right now and recognize that you, your beautiful, unique self, is enough.
